Ice caps can be located in any area where the temperature remains at or below 0 degrees celsius, allowing the ice cap to form. Some are located in the North Pole and the South Pole. Technically Antartica is an "ice sheet" because it is larger than 50,000 square kilometers but parts of it are ice caps. In the Northern Hemisphere ice caps can be found in Greenland and in frozen parts of the Artic Ocean. There are a few ice caps on top of mountains. An example is Mt.Kilimanjaro, located in Tanzania, Africa, it has an ice cap but it is melting at a very fast pace. If ice caps just continue to build up, they become ice sheets.
