Weddell Seals and Crab-eater seals are a few of the species calling the polar ice caps home. There are also bird who nest there in the warm season, whales including Bowhead and Beluga, and polar bears who survicve with their thick oily coat of fur and a high percentage of body fat. The Weddell seal can weight up to 1,300 lbs., and eats fish, squid, octopuses, and krill. While the Crab-eater seal only weighs around 400 lbs., and eats only krill and not crabs like it's name says. The birds that come in during the warm season feed on the few insects and plants. The Bowhead whale typically eats krill and other small animals, and the Beluga whale eat different types of sea creature like squid, octopuses and different kinds of fish.

Including Bear Grass and Moss Campion. bear grass in actually apart of the lilly family, and these plant grow almost 3 feet tall. They are creamy white and shaped like saucers. Moss Campion is a plant that in a way hugs the ground with small leaves and a mounded shape to protect it from the wind. the flower it produces are small and pink.
